Publish vs Build Website
Let's dive deeper into the difference between Publish and Build Website.
Summary
Publishing makes content visible to content authors, allowing them to view and potentially edit it further.
Published content is typically not visible to regular web users, as its often a part of the content creation and review process and intended for internal review or collaboration among authors.
To start publishing content, on the Live Preview, click Publish.
This action triggers the Publish dialog window, in here content authors can choose to publish either a single component or multiple components simultaneously.
This flexibility can streamline the publishing process and make it more efficient for content authors to update their content
Select all components that needs to be published then click Publish.
Building typically occurs after content has been finalized and published. It prepares the content for deployment to the live environment.
This action will make all published content public and visible to all web users.
To do this, go to page editor and select Build Website.
It's essential to avoid hitting the Build website button every time content authors make changes or create a new page. This action triggers the deployment of all previously published content since the last build, which may result in unintended updates being pushed live.
