Getting Started

1. If are you not already on the Octana Contentful app settings screen, then from the main Contentful Web App top menu go to Apps > Installed Apps > click on the ... and click on Configure.

   

2. You should see a screen like this:

   

3. Under Import/Export settings, you have the option to enable Store templates in Media Library. This will provide the ability for Export files to be saved to Media instead of being downloaded to your computer. You can also optionally change the default Tag name that will be applied to all imported content.

   

4. Sidebar display allows you to select the Content Types that you want to show in the Import/Export buttons in the sidebar. Usually we would recommend selecting all and clicking Save in the top right. 

   

5. Next, you can define the Site Structure for the frontend:

   

   Page content type

   Select the Content Type that is used for a page in the website frontend.  

   URL field

   Choose the field from your Content Type that represents a Page which stores the URL of the Page.

   Choose the field that represents the page type.

   Editable fields

   Choose which fields can be editing directly from the sitemap view. Pages without content in any fields marked “warn if missing” will be highlighted in the sitemap view.

8. This is optional, but we recommend that you set the Contentful Home to Octana. Go to Contentful Settings > (Environment Settings) Home then select the Octana app and press Save.
